Auras, Astrology, and Numerology.

As it turns out, I am surrounded by super cool and interesting people. As a matter of fact, my co-worker Tristan can read aura's. I find this particularly fascinating because he does not seem like the uber spiritual type. Needless to say, I have a green aura, which represents growth, balance and a love of nature, animals and children. Pretty cool, right? Apparently Brent is indigo. I am his power color. Also cool. I have decided that I am going to take up meditating. I aspire to be a cool cat like Tristan. My other co-worker Joe also happens to be one of the most interesting people in the world. Apparently his aura is purple and has a crown (only the coolest people have crowns on their auras. He is THAT COOL.) One day, I asked Joe what he thought about the number 22 (my wedding date) to which he replied "I don't know, I will have to meditate about it." He still needs to get back to me on that. According to numerology it is the "master builder number" I guess it really is the king of numbers. I also picked that day because June 22nd is the summer solstice. Thats gotta mean something too, right? Another interesting person in my life is my future brother in law, Ian. He came up with a project called "Why Some People do Things, and Why Some People Don't." It is inspiring. It asks simply: Are you a doer of things, or are you not. I want to be one. I have since decided that I am going to learn how to speak Italian, and apply to be on the Amazing Race. Brent and I are in the process of making our application video. Wish us luck!

Aloha, Birthday Girl.

Alright, so I just had my 21st birthday this previous Thursday. It was nothing short of amazing. Starting with being woken up at 7 am (exact time of birth.) To my brand new hydration unit from my father, 50 bones from my mother, and a free grand slam at Denny's. I was on quite the birthday kick, stating such wacky things like: "Someone get Mirah some milk and temptations STAT, we are celebrating up in here." and "This is my birthday bacon? This is not birthday quality." or "The first rule about birthday outfits, is you always compliment the birthday outfit." or my personal favorite "Its my birthday and I'll be late if I want to, late if I want to, late if I want to. You would be too if you had work on your birthday." (Sung to the tune: Its my birthday and I'll cry if I want to.) Mind you, I was only 3 minutes late. In my defense, you only have one day to be a diva and I wasn't going to waste that opportunity. After work I went to get a massage for the first time in my life which was luxurious. I came home to Brent who bestowed me with a brand new instax polaroid camera. BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER. Also, he made a card with receipts/movie tickets/pamphlets/flyers from darn near every event we have been to during the duration of our courtship. INCLUDING the receipt for my engagement ring! I didn't know he was such a hoarder. He then took me to my favorite restaurant on 25th and we ended the night seeing if I could get away getting into a pub seeing as how I look like I am 15 max. Needless to say, we went in, got some strange looks, and got the heck out. It was exciting. Speaking of exciting things, I spent 14 days in Maui. It was the greatest vacation I have ever been on. We stayed with Brents parents at a gorgeous condo right on the beach. It had a spiral staircase IN the room! Right down the street was the most delicious shaved ice shack that put haupia (coconut cream) on virtually everything. We went every single day. Also, we bought snorkeling gear so we could hit the ocean every day. I made friends with a couple of sea turtles named Leo and Ralph and we spent many hours swimming and paddle boarding together. Leo liked to take shelter under my board when an especially wild wave would come, it was adorable. We went to national parks, hit up the road to Hana aka the most beautiful drive in the world, whale watching tours, and a traditional Hawaiian Luau! So much culture, it was strange to think that I was still in America! We ate everything coconut, and I pretty much gorged myself on papaya and mango. The water was so incredible. There are few things I love more than swimming. I would go lay out in the water and It felt like velvet on my skin. There is nothing more peaceful. Unfortunately, I am afraid of most marine life, which makes me question why I wanted to be a marine biologist for much of my youth. I quickly realized that no sharks were coming to eat me. Hawaii will be seeing me again soon.
