Not all who wander are lost.

Maybe I should blog more often. Maybe not. Right now I am completely overwhelmed with school. Perhaps I shouldn't have started into my major classes by taking on 17 credits. I'm definitely going to drop my cognitive psyc class. My professor is a pompous jerk, and I feel completely degraded by him. Plus, he walks around without shoes. Which is weird. I have reason to speculate that my abnormal psyc teacher may, or may not be a murderer. Either way, I am fascinated by the subject, and have found my direction in my career. I have decided I want to become a psychotherapist, for adolescents. I have always wanted to do something that in some way betters mankind. It all boils down to something my uncle told me years ago: that doctors stitch up physical wounds, and they heal in time, but a psychological problem will stay with you forever. The pain that some people live with is inconceivable, and it is something they will have for life. Aside from that, I find psychology completely fascinating. For instance, in my abnormal psyc class we talked about this woman who had multiple personality disorder, and had 26 different personalities! Some were artists, some were left handed, some could sing, some were black, and some were children. The difference between this and schizophrenia is that you are aware of your physical limitations. For instance, if one personality is a man, you are still aware that you are a woman and that you cannot grow a beard, whereas if you are a schizo, you truly believe you are a man. Anyways, back to the lady with the MPD. She developed each of these personalities from some traumatic event in her life, like her black little girl personality, she developed this because her mom wouldn't let her play with her black friend when she was a child. IT BLOWS MY MIND. I go to class every day just to get my mind freaked. Lets just say, I take heavy doses of asprin daily to prevent aneurysms or other potential brain injuries. Also, my work load is quite heavy, so I don't have much free time. Now, time for the good. Brent and I have pretty much established the fact that we are going to be together for quite some time, so I have been pretty stoked about that. Our relationship is good. Really good. My roommate Jenni is a freshman, so a still a bit braggy and naive, but I love her nonetheless. My wanderlust tendencies are kicking in hardcore, so I find myself driving in no particular direction, and throwing what little money I have at aspirations that further my traveling dreams. COME FEBRUARY I AM GOING TO MAUI! Also, in December I am going on a 5 day backpacking trip to the grand canyon with my mountain man of a father, and we are also making our way up to Vancouver, and Victoria BC. GO CANADA! I have work now, so no pictures today. Maybe tomorrow?
